Citizens Baptist Medical Center Nationally Recognized with an ‘A’ Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Nov 18, 2021
TALLADEGA, Ala. -  Citizens Baptist Medical Center received an “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for fall 2021. This national distinction recognizes Citizens Baptist Medical Center’s achievements in protecting patients from harm and error in the hospital.

“We are extremely proud to see our hard work, and dedication to patient safety, result in such an honor,” Frank Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Baptist said. “This score is a testament to the work our team has put in to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care possible. To be one of the few hospitals in the state to receive an A score is quite an achievement and is a proud moment for our team.

” The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over thirty national performance measures reflecting errors, injuries, accidents and infections, as well as systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harms to patients. The grading system is peerreviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
